A house built on trust, operating in six directions.
DVN GROUP is a family-owned Indian business house whose jewellery trade began in 1944. Four generations on, it operates across jewellery manufacturing, international trade, technology and AI, real estate, education and media. The group reports 5,800+ people in jewellery production and a separate technology team of over 1,000.
Eight decades, six verticals
A single house operating manufacturing, trade, technology, property, education and media.
- Four generations, family owned
- 100% bootstrapped
- Worldwide export
- Carbon neutral certified
- 100% renewable energy
- 100% women office staff
- Zero child labour
- German & Japanese machinery
True success is measured not by what we earn, but by the lives we uplift.

What we are building toward
To be recognised worldwide as an Indian house that competes on craftsmanship and integrity — trusted equally by a bench jeweller, an international buyer and a family choosing a school.
To provide the best quality products at the best prices by continuously innovating in design and manufacturing, to operate sustainably at every step, and to grow in ways that leave our people, our women workforce and our communities measurably better off.
- 01
Quality counts first
The house motto, and the order of operations. Every piece is tested against standards of quality, durability and craftsmanship before it leaves — the reputation is the asset.
- 02
Bootstrapped, four generations
Founded 1944 and never externally funded. Growth has been paid for out of earnings, which is why the standard has never had to give way to a quarter.
- 03
Women, empowered by policy
100% women office staff and over 70% women across jewellery production, supported by flexible hours, a crèche facility and funded training. Zero child labour, without exception.
- 04
Sustainable by construction
Carbon-neutral and 100% renewable-energy certified, with recycling and ethical sourcing built into the process rather than reported after it.
- 05
Technology in the workshop
CAD/CAM, CNC and machinery imported from Germany and Japan, alongside master jewellers working by hand. Neither replaces the other.
- 06
Build the whole chain
Design, manufacturing, findings, packaging, photography, export and the software that runs it — owned in-house, so a client deals with one house rather than seven vendors.
Eight decades, recorded
The milestones that shaped the group, from its founding to the present.
- 1944
The trade begins
Kathad Bappa starts buying and making jewellery in Mumbai — an unlicensed trade run on skill and word of mouth, and the beginning of the family’s life in the business.
- 1963
Dinesh Choksi takes charge, aged twelve
On his grandfather’s passing, Dinesh Choksi assumes the business as a child and begins turning an informal trade into a manufacturing company — new designs, new processes, and the intent to operate on the record.
- 1970
Founded, officially
On 23 March 1970 Dinesh Choksi registers the business as a jewellery factory under the Gold Act, the 123rd person in India to be officially recognised as a jewellery manufacturer. He is the founder of DVN as a licensed manufacturing company.
- 1980
ORO-Z established
A dedicated CNC bangle brand is founded, pairing computer-controlled precision with traditional bangle craft for export markets.
- 2004
The next generation takes operational control
Deven, Vishal and Niraj Choksi step into leadership of the group, expanding beyond jewellery into education, technology, property and finance.
- 2006
Alibaba India brand ambassadorship
Niraj Choksi is appointed Brand Ambassador for Alibaba India, beginning nearly two decades of promoting Indian jewellery and apparel on global digital marketplaces.
- 2013
Education formalised
Deven Choksi takes charge of M. J. Junior College and School, and the group's education vertical takes institutional shape.
- 2021
Certified sustainable
The Jewelry Manufacturers Council certifies DVN as a Sustainable Jewelry Manufacturing Company, alongside carbon neutrality, renewable energy and recycling certification. Transfer Infinite ships from DVN IT SOLUTIONS®, developed by an all-women team.
- Today
Six verticals, one house
Nine manufacturing units across 268,000 sq. ft. in suburban Mumbai with 5,800+ people in jewellery production, a separate technology team of over 1,000 at DVN IT SOLUTIONS®, and an annual capacity of 98 million pieces — with trade, property, education and media built around it.
What eighty years buys you
- 01
Eight decades in the trade
Founded 1944 and family-run through four generations. Longevity in jewellery manufacturing is itself the quality signal — the trade has no shortage of firms that lasted one cycle.
- 02
The complete ecosystem
Hand sketch, CAD, master CAM, production, findings, accessories, packaging, photography and export — all in-house across nine units and 268,000 sq. ft.
- 03
Capacity that holds
An annual manufacturing capacity of 98 million pieces, 5,800+ people in jewellery production and contract partner factories for peak demand — so a programme scales without a change of supplier.
- 04
Materials without compromise
100% nickel-free, cadmium-free and lead-free across every product, in solid gold, platinum, sterling silver, gold filled, vermeil and plated — to international standards.
- 05
Certified sustainable
Carbon neutrality, 100% renewable energy, recycling and sustainable manufacturing certification, with a zero child-labour policy applied without exception.
- 06
Built by women
100% women office staff and more than 70% women across jewellery production, supported by flexible hours, a crèche facility and funded professional development.
